Salviati joined forces with Lorenzo Radi Sr. and mosaic specialist Enrico Podio to establish the firm Salviati Dott. Antonio fu Bartolomeo in 1859, securing factory space at Palazzo Barbarigo on San Vio in Venice. Giulio Radi trained initially as a master glassblower in his father's furnace before joining the famous furnace of Andrea Rioda & C. in 1918.
